The magic of Michael's Barkery all started with Michael! Michael was known as "The Mayor" at his New Hope Pennsylvania High School because of his engaging personality. Everyone he met knew he had a beloved dog named Sunshine.

When it came time to do his senior project, with the goal of exploring career aspirations, the easy answer was for Michael to bake and sell dog treats. The treats were an instant success! This small, inspired event led to the vision and creation of Michael's Barkery, a multi-faceted store including a dog spa, pet boutique, and of course, our pet bakery.

Throughout Michael's life, his parents have assisted him in choosing a path that would not limit him because of his cognitive disability, but would instead utilize his strengths and abilities. He is the heart and soul behind Michael's Barkery, and we hope that his story can inspire others to work toward their dreams too.

Our Mission

Our company is built on purpose and Pawsitivity. Our mission is to provide jobs and training opportunities for individuals with cognitive disabilities, while supporting animal-lovers.

 

All of our dog treats are made with high quality, nutrient rich ingredients in a commercial kitchen. Our teammates are involved in all aspects of our production including making dough, cutting out the cookies, baking, and packaging.
